Who We Are
1802 Build Co. is a family-owned custom builder based in Terrell, Texas. Since 2017, we’ve been helping families throughout East Texas turn their ideas—and often a piece of raw land—into a place they’re proud to call home.
We design and build custom homes, barndominiums, metal buildings and shops, and we also handle major renovations and land development. Our experience allows us to bring the entire project together—from the first ideas and architectural design through site development, construction and the final details.
But what matters most to us is that every project is personal. We’re not interested in building the same house over and over. We want to understand your land, your lifestyle and what you want your home to become, then create something that is uniquely yours.

At 1802 Build Co., we believe a truly custom home should start with a blank sheet of paper—not a catalog of plans. Our design process begins with you: how you live, what you want your home to feel like, the features that matter to your family, and the land where it will be built.
We look at the entire property when developing the design—views, trees, topography, driveway approach, outdoor living areas, shops and garages, and even how the home sits on the land. The goal isn’t simply to design a beautiful house. It’s to design the right house for you and the property you chose to build it on.
You can bring us an existing plan, start with one of ours and make it your own, or start completely from scratch. We work with you to develop the floor plan, exterior style, elevations, materials and details while keeping construction and budget in mind throughout the design process.

IT STARTS WITH THE LAND
LAND & SITE DEVELOPMENT
Building a custom home or barndominium on your own land is very different from building on a finished subdivision lot. Every property is different, and understanding the land before construction begins can make the difference between a smooth project and costly surprises.
At 1802 Build Co., we look at the entire property—not just where the house will sit. We evaluate access, topography, drainage, trees, soil conditions, utilities, septic requirements, views and the best orientation for the home. Then we develop a plan that brings the land and the home together.
Whether we’re starting with a few undeveloped acres, an existing family property, or a larger rural tract, we can handle the work necessary to prepare the property for construction—including clearing, grading, house pads, drainage, ponds, driveways, culverts, utilities and other site improvements.
We don’t just build a house on your land. We develop the property so the home belongs there.
